Homeless? Well, not really!
I am "homeless" in the sense that I no longer own a home. But of course I have a home, a modest apartment in the Quapaw Quarter of Little Rock, within walking distance of church, a grocery store, a nice coffee shop, a bus stop - even within walking distance of my job, if it only it weren't so dad-blamed hot outside! (Well, the heat doesn't change the distance, only my willingness to walk outside for very long!)
And the good news - I sold my house! I am really pleased - it sold in less than a month, and we closed today (thus my claim to being "homeless").
I am pretty well adjusted to the apartment - 600 square feet is really quite comfortable. I will eventually look for a place to buy, but I won't be in a hurry. It would be nice to have two bedrooms so that one could be my office and a guest room (even though I mostly work at the dining table!), and it would be nice to have an outside door to private space. One very nice thing about this apartment is that there is a great patio behind the building - and when it isn't so hot (whine! whine!), I will make use of that. I can take my time and get a good feel for living in the city. And who knows, maybe I will just let my money collect interest and stay here for a while!
The other big news is that I have been to Dublin and back! And I have actually met sweet Lily Piper O'Brien in person and gotten to hold her and hug and kiss her and watch her Daddy play guitar concerts for her! I love Dublin and look forward to going back, and of course I LOVED spending time with Chris and Catherine and Lily! So I will attach a couple of pictures, so you can see how much she's grown. And when I get high speed internet here at my apartment, I will post a couple of little videos that I took.
